TEDxEPO

Official TEDxCopenhagen partner
TED’s presentations of “ideas worth spreading” are world-renowned. But with just 18 minutes to deliver their message, presenters must be on top of their game. EPO is responsible for preparing TEDxCopenhagen presenters for the biggest stage.

Making the advanced understandable
TED talks are engaging presentations of often ground-breaking ideas made by leading experts in fields like neurology, philosophy, economics and even sport. Only some of them are experienced public speakers, and most have never been told to keep their presentations so brief. Our work with TED speakers includes helping them build up a succinct, powerful story and put it into a presentation that they can deliver effectively.

From start to stage
Our coaching sessions start from scratch: with the often complex, sometimes diffuse idea that is the basis of their talk. They are ideas that rarely stand alone. Coaching TED speakers has taught us that they are passionate about their topics. Very passionate. And that they would speak about them until someone stopped them. Knowing they only have a limited time available, our first job is to help them whittle away the unnecessary details that distract from what they are trying to say. Then we help them build up and enliven their talk using examples and stories. Once the storyline is in place, we work with the speaker to refine their presentation and we keep refining it until we’re left with a talk that the audience will remember. Body-language training and help creating visual elements are other important elements of TED coaching.

The art of the presentation
TED talks elevate verbal presentations to an art form. A bad presentation can make even the most interesting idea sound dull, and even a good presentation will still only just be a presentation if the speaker simply speaks at the audience. An effective speaker understands how to keep the audience with them and how to use body language to support their message. A TED talk starts with an extraordinary idea, but you don’t need to start off as an extraordinary speaker to deliver it; you just need proper coaching.

The TED talk is a playground for EPO’s presentation trainers.

EPO’s
VR training

EPO has developed a VR training method, so you can face a virtual audience without any risk. We have recorded different audience sizes so you can start with a smaller meeting and work your way up to the real TED stage in a packed Tivolis Koncertsal.
